Chester Poage was an American politician who served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Alabama. He was born on June 23, 1836, in Carlyle, Illinois, and he later moved to Alabama, where he became involved in politics. Poage was a member of the Democratic Party and served in the House of Representatives from 1877 to 1883. During his time in office, he focused on issues related to agriculture and rural development. Poage was known for his advocacy for farmers and his efforts to improve economic conditions in rural areas. He passed away on May 4, 1901.
